You may have noticed there have not been many new posts to the website this year; I’ve been focusing very heavily on writing new lessons for TheSimpleAnswers Bible Correspondence Course! 17 lessons are finished, and more are in progress! And more students are joining all the time!

If you haven’t heard about it, it is a new type of course that doesn’t give you the answers, it only shows you where and how to find the answers in your own Bible. It helps you ask questions that only the Bible can answer. If you’ve ever wanted a deeper understanding of the Bible, NOW is the time to start getting it! You CAN understand the Bible. Jesus thanked the Father that the Bible was “revealed unto BABES” – not to wise, studied men, but to children, the ignorant, the helpless – those who need the answers in the Bible the MOST!

This course starts at the most basic foundation of Bible study and takes you through a grand journey of the plan of God, the foundations of faith, grace, the fate of the dead, the kingdom of God, and the nature of God – and yes, you can understand.

There is absolutely no charge for this course, and you will NOT be shamed, coerced, or pressured into giving money. This is a FREE course – but that doesn’t mean you won’t have to work! This is a course for those who are TIRED of not knowing God; those who are SICK of being fed opinions, and want FACTS, direct from the sacred scriptures. It’s time you studied out your beliefs for yourself – it’s not that hard, you just have to devote thirty minutes a day – isn’t it worth that?

So if you’re not prepared to set aside 30 minutes every day – the time it takes to watch a dull sit-com – to get to know your creator, with whom you hope to spend eternity… don’t enroll! But if you do HUNGER and THIRST after righteousness, as Jesus commanded, then you NEED this course! You NEED to know what God has planned for you, because what the Bible reveals is far more awe-inspiring than what you’ve probably been taught!

It is a completely non-denominational course. It does not teach doctrine and it doesn’t quote leaders of ANY church. In fact, in the course I try very hard not to teach ANYTHING, but just do what preachers should have done all along – let the Bible explain itself.

If you like the articles on this website, this is intended to teach you how to learn to understand things like that for yourself, out of the Bible, without learning them from someone else!

The only textbook is the Bible and the lessons don’t just feed you the answers; they help you ask the questions, and then shows you where the Bible answers those questions, where you can read the answers for yourself.

You can find the first sample lesson available at this link to see what you think of it:

If you wish to subscribe, send an Email to Questions@TheSimpleAnswers.com with your name, address, age, and briefly state your religious background (I.E., what churches you’ve attended), so that if you have questions as you study this course, I can answer them with an eye to where you’ve been.

When you subscribe, you’ll receive a hard copy of lessons one and two, and then you’ll receive a new lesson approximately every 2-4 weeks through the mail. You’ll be free to cancel if at any time you don’t believe this is helping you understand the Bible, and again, this is COMPLETELY non-denominational, not associated with any church.

Did you know that? You probably thought that you could just blame a corrupt minister, an incumbent politician, or someone else, anyone else, for whatever was wrong with the world, your church, or even your family didn’t you? Well, let me correct this right now; GOD placed those leaders over you! Each and every one of them, from your President to your deacons. And if YOU are righteous, THEY will be righteous. It is as simple as that; good people have good leaders; God has promised it.

1 Samuel 12:13-14 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you. IF ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall BOTH ye and ALSO THE KING THAT REIGNETH OVER YOU continue following the LORD your God:

Israel demanded a king. And after due warning, God allowed them to have a king. He gave them a king, and a promise. He said that IF THEY WOULD OBEY HIM, then not only they, but ALSO THE KING would follow the LORD!

Do you grasp that? The PEOPLE determine how righteous the king will be! It’s not that the king has no free moral agency, but GOD chooses who will be king; GOD chooses who will be president, and GOD chooses who will be your minister! Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone knows that the lake of fire burning with brimstone is the reward of the incorrigibly wicked. But do we really know what it is?

Revelation is a book of symbols. Practically nothing in there is going to happen exactly like the symbol puts it – does Jesus have a literal sword in his mouth (Revelation 19:21)? Is it a literal prostitute who gets judged in chapter 17? Or a literal flying scorpion in chapter 9? Of course not. So why does everyone assume that it is a literal lake of fire? THIS IS THE ONLY DAY OF SALVATION!!” thunders the evangelist to his trembling parishioners! “If you’re not saved TODAY, YOU WILL BE LOST FOREVER!” he roars, as all the audience shouts a loud “AMEN!”

Friends, is this preacher right? Did you ever stop to even ask the question? Where does he get this idea? Does he realize how many scriptures it contradicts and how many questions it leaves unanswered and how foolish, inept, and downright cruel it makes God out to be?

Practically every church in the world believes that TODAY is the ONLY DAY of SALVATION, from the Baptists to the Seventh Day Adventists. But are they correct? Can they explain the dozens of scriptures that I am about to point out? Do they base their beliefs on the inspired word of God, or on traditions? On facts, or on feelings?

Consider this; if they are correct then there is no hope for the unsaved dead, who have nothing to look forward do but eternity pushing a rock uphill in hell; but if I’m right, they have a FUTURE, and they are not yet lost forever! If there is even a tiny chance of seeing your departed loved ones again in a happier time, wouldn’t you want to know it? Isn’t it worth your time to get the FACTS, and find for yourself what the BIBLE says? Read the rest of this entry »

Many people in the world – at least, in the English speaking world – believe that English is a pure language. That we’ll be speaking English after the return of Christ, when Zechariah says “Yea, at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve him with one accord.” (Zechariah 3:9, RSV)

But what is this language going to be like? Is it English, as some think? Hebrew, as many others believe? Or some one of the thousands of other dialects spoken today?

If you’ve read my paper on the “Origin of Modern Languages”, you’ll remember that all languages we know today, English, Spanish, Czechoslavakian, Wolof, Quechua, Magyar, Malayan, Hebrew, etc, all descended from a common root language at the time of the Tower of Babel. God divided this original language which He gave to Adam into the ancestors of all the language families we know today.

Hebrew was definitely not the original language spoken by Adam; it, like all the others, was just one of the many divisions of “tongues” mentioned in Genesis 10:5, 32, etc. And it’s not a pure language either, as I will show.

The original language no longer exists today – it was pieced out among the various sons and grandsons of Noah and scattered over the Earth. Historical linguists have been trying to piece together this original language for the last century or two, with reasonable success. This language that God gave Adam is very likely the “pure language” we will be given again after the return of Christ.

But the main point I want to make in this article is to show you the idolatrous pagan words that issue from your lips a thousand times a day. You don’t know it I’m sure, but English is far from a pure language. Neither is Hebrew, Spanish, or Quechua. Let’s look at a few examples… Read the rest of this entry »

Many people wonder – will Jews be saved? They suppose that since the Bible says that “salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22), you can be either a Christian or a Jew and be saved. But does this make sense? After all, of the main points of the Jewish religion is that they reject Jesus as the Messiah; and the Bible is quite clear that without Jesus, we cannot be saved.

Acts 4:12 (RSV) And there is salvation in no one else, for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given among men by which WE MUST be saved.

So have the Jews found another road to salvation? Have they found ANOTHER name to be saved with, while rejecting Jesus? Is there more than one way to be saved? Let’s start by looking at someone like, say, the Hindus. Now the Hindus are not bad people – nor are they any less worthy of salvation than you or I. They’re all people, just like us, and God loves them all since He created them all.

But that said, we’re talking about salvation here – and for salvation, you MUST believe in Jesus! There is NO other name in Heaven that can get you saved – Not Buddha, or Allah, or Adonai or Yahweh. This name Jesus is required – no other will do…. Read the rest of this entry »

[Note: This booklet was originally published as three separate entries, here combined into one. You may request a free hard copy by emailing Questions@TheSimpleAnswers.com]

Why do you worship God on Sunday? Do you know? Did you ever stop to ask where the proof came from? Most don’t! Most simply accept what they’ve always been told and leave it at that; but you will be shocked when you learn just WHY you keep Sunday – and what day you SHOULD be keeping holy!

If you read the Bible from cover to cover you will never find a verse which commands you to keep Sunday holy. Sunday, which the Bible calls merely “the first day of the week”, was a day of work throughout Biblical times. Most ministers are aware of all this, if you ask them – so why do they teach you to keep Sunday holy regardless?

This article will answer those questions; it will show you first WHICH day God commanded you to observe as a day of rest. Then it will show you what happened to that day in the early church, who changed it and why, and you will learn why YOU observe Sunday – the record is all there to be uncovered. Finally, it will tell you why it matters to God – and it DOES matter to God which day you observe!

WHICH DAY DOES GOD COMMAND?

In keeping Sunday, most people believe they are fulfilling this commandment of God… Read the rest of this entry »

How can you know WHICH Bible is correct? We have all sorts of versions out there – KJV, NIV, ASV, RSV, and quite literally hundreds of others – but which should you read? Does it matter? What’s the difference?Setting aside for the moment ease of use for the modern reader, which version is MOST TRUSTWORTHY? Are any inspired by God?

Some would tell you that the King James Version of the Bible is “the word of God, from cover to cover includin’ the cover!” – is that true? Should you use the Septuagint? What about the Apocryphal books like the books of the Maccabees, Judith, Jubilees, and Enoch? Or the dead sea scrolls?

I will address these questions a bit later on, but for now I want to lay the groundwork of the philosophy of how you SHOULD approach this question. If there is a God – and you must believe there is, if you’re wanting to read the book He wrote – then God, if He is powerful enough to be worthy of being CALLED a God, can take care of Himself. He can protect Himself. And He can protect His word.

Does God need YOUR help to protect the Bible? If He does, He’s a pretty useless God if He can’t even keep His own inspired writings from getting burned or wet or lost! The point of this is that GOD is ABLE to save His word; God WANTED to save His word, and God DID save His word. If you don’t approach this question with that in mind, you will certainly come to the wrong conclusion and walk away in frustration.

Religious scholars tend to get caught up in the details and forget that this is a book written by God, not Hebrews; it was the words of God, not Jews, that were written down; it was the thoughts of the Creator, not the created, that we find in the pages of the Bible. All too often they’re too busy looking at the words under a microscope to read what they say. Read the rest of this entry »

Are we obligated to pay taxes to a corrupt government? Despite the fact that taxes are unjust and administrated unfairly, should we pay taxes or should we refuse? Should we be scrupulously honest with our taxes, or is it OK to “cheat” just a little, if we don’t think we’ll get caught?

Do we, as Christians, owe taxes to the government of this country? No! Should we, however, pay taxes anyway? Yes! Christ commanded you to, in plain language, if you’ll only listen and obey!

Matthew 22:15-17 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Here is the question. Should we pay tribute (taxes) to Caesar (the government), or not? Well? Should you, or not? Read the rest of this entry »
