Everyone today seems to believe that Man is basically a good creature at heart. That there is good in the worst of us - even if there is bad in the best of us. Most people believe that if Satan weren’t around to influence and “make us bad” we would revert to our natural good state.

Many health philosophers go so far as to say that when man is healthy, crime disappears. To quote them “if the body is pure, the mind will be pure also”. But Man is not good. Not a bit of Him is good. That is, if you believe God. But what does He know!

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful ABOVE ALL THINGS, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

God said that Man’s heart - that is, YOUR heart - is deceitful. But not just deceitful! Deceitful above ALL THINGS! God says that NOTHING in the universe is more deceitful, and desperately wicked, than YOUR HEART!

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

God says that your mind is God’s ENEMY! That your mind isn’t subject to His laws, which literally define “Good”, and furthermore that your mind CANNOT be subject to that law, and therefore CANNOT be good!

Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Now that’s a far cry from “cleanse the body, cleanse the mind”. You’re not evil because you’re sick. You’re not evil because you’re under stress, and you’re not evil because Satan is coercing you to sin. You’re evil… because you’re evil.

But while that condemns you, it condemns you so harshly that people are tempted to say “Oh, well, yeah, I guess I just can’t HELP being evil!” - But God has heard that answer before! Read the rest of this entry »

How exactly DO you love your enemies? Do you give the man coming at you with a knife a big hug? And how are you supposed to bless them that curse you? Just say “oh bless you, my children” to the people lighting the fire under the stake they’ve tied you on? Seriously! Put this in a real-world perspective, WHAT does it all mean? Throw away the empty feelings, the hypocrisy you’ve always heard, and demand a REAL ANSWER from the Bible! An answer that you can apply to YOUR enemies, in OUR time! Something that you can use to make your life different NOW!

So HOW can you love your enemies? How do you SHOW it? HOW do you “bless” those that curse you - what do you actually DO to bless them? Everyone on Earth knows that “good Christians” are supposed to “bless them that curse you”. And I’ve known tons of people who said “this person stole from me, but I blessed them!” - or “that person lied to me, but I loved him anyway”. I’m sure you have too - but you know that those people were HYPOCRITES! They didn’t LOVE that enemy - they were still steamed over whatever it was they had done to them!

Does loving your enemies mean you just prattle on about someone’s sins against you, but then conclude with “but I forgave him!”… ? That’s what pretty much anyone in the world would tell you. But that’s not true! The Bible says “Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another:” (Proverbs 25:9), so if you’re talking to someone about someone else’s sin against you, you’re ALREADY not following the command of God to talk to your neighbor by himself, and you are NOT loving your enemies, nor blessing them that cursed you! “Can a Christian lose his salvation? Can a person once saved, having received God’s free gift of eternal life and having been born into the family of God, again return exactly and completely to the position of being a lost and guilty sinner in the eyes of God? Of course not!”So says the bulk of modern Christianity, anyway. That is an actual quote from a prominent preacher, who echoes the sentiments of the majority. He recites this moving, powerful statement… but he is compelled to do so without using the Bible. For the Bible is quite clear that once saved is NOT always saved!

2 Peter 2:20-21 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is WORSE with them than the beginning. FOR IT HAD BEEN BETTER FOR THEM NOT TO HAVE KNOWN the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

This is a very plain, very simple Bible verse. Clearly, when we are in “the world” - that is, in an uncalled, unsaved state of sin - we are lost indeed; destined for hell, as the protestant world believes - which is not the case at all, but let’s say it is, for the sake of argument. Then after we are called, and have received the KNOWLEDGE of the lord, and are “saved” by our “Saviour”, and KNOW the lord….

If we THEN, after being saved, become entangled in the sins, and lusts, and pollutions of the world, and fall away from the truth… we are worse off than we were before we knew Him in the first place! It would have been better for our eternal future that we had NEVER KNOWN God, than to have known Him and rejected him!

Now if we were destined for Hell in our unsaved state before, and it would be worse for us after we fall away from the truth than if we had never known, then we would be in for a dire judgment indeed!

Does that sound like “once saved, always saved” to you? It certainly doesn’t to me! Read the rest of this entry »

Does God Exist?

Does God exist? Billions today believe that He does, billions more believe that He doesn’t. But both sides BELIEVE! Either side they are on, they base their belief on an OPINION! On a FAITH that He does or does not exist! And that SHOULD NOT BE!If there is ONE all-powerful creator who built the heavens, built you, and has plans for your future, then you should be able to PROVE it! Not just BELIEVE He exists, but PROVE that He exists! To prove it as an absolute FACT, so that you no longer have to just have FAITH that He exists, but so that you can KNOW, as surely as you know the sun will rise tomorrow, that there IS a God!

I’m sure you’ve never stopped to take the time to PROVE that there is, or is not, a God. Either way, you have accepted what you currently believe because it’s what you’ve always been taught, because it’s what your parents believed, or because of a few fleeting scraps of reason that you’ve used - here is an example from each side:

“I believe in God because I just know our soul has to go someplace when it dies!”

“I don’t believe in God because science says we don’t need Him!”

Both of those opinions are WRONG! Would you base your future - perhaps your ETERNAL future - on such reasoning as that? Would you buy a house based on that sort of research? Would you buy a car without seeing if that particular model was a lemon, and if you were paying a good price? Would you marry someone that you had never met?

And so WHY would you stake your ENTIRE ETERNAL LIFE on an OPINION?? A weak, unfounded opinion, which you never proved, never investigated, and never even took the time to verify? How dare you not spend the effort to find the answer to the question, DOES GOD EXIST! Read the rest of this entry »

At what point did Jesus begin working miracles? The natural thought is at Cana, right? Since everyone knows that it was at Cana that He worked His first miracle at His mother’s behest. But when did Cana take place? At what point in His life did He work His first miracle? Was it at the beginning of His ministry… or perhaps a matter of years after He began preaching?

John 2:1-2 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

This is the introduction to the story of the turning of water into wine at Cana. But notice! Jesus ALREADY HAD DISCIPLES BEFORE this miracle!

Verses 3-4 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Jesus said that it is not TIME for Him to start doing this sort of thing! So there was a TIME, a time AFTER He had disciples, at which He intended to begin working MIRACLES. Read the rest of this entry »
