You’ve heard since your earliest memories of religion why Jesus came. Did you know that what little you heard that wasn’t wrong, wasn’t half the story? Yes, Jesus came to die for our sins, yes He came to shed innocent blood that we might live, yes He came to save the world; but those things, stupefying though they may be, were almost an afterthought to the REAL purpose of Jesus coming. The purpose you never heard.Did you ever think of how unfair it is? Unfair I said. Unfair that God should expect us to obey an arbitrary set of rules; submit ourselves to Him; live by His code? Think about this! Jesus came to Earth; lived a perfect life, didn’t sin, then died and went back to heaven. Now He expects us to walk in His tremendous footsteps. Who could do that?

Who could do that, when we have a nature that LOVES to do evil; when we are trained from so early in life to embrace the lies of the world. Who could possibly do what God asks? This problem has led most of the world to believe that the ten commandments are done away, and that we shouldn’t even TRY to obey God, since we’re doomed to fail anyway.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

This verse answers the question fully - if you really understand ALL of the connotations of what it says. It says that Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh. And condemned sin in the flesh.

What does that REALLY mean? What does it mean to CONDEMN sin? One way is to say “sin is bad!” - that condemns sin. But does it really? Think about it - does it condemn sin if you say “sin is bad”, but you yourself sin? Read the rest of this entry »

“If there IS a God, and if He DOES care how men act, why doesn’t He just MAKE men obey Him?”

“If these rules of His are so all-fired important to Him, why is He allowing men to break them? Why not just FORCE all mankind to obey His laws?”

This has to be one of the chief arguments of a sincere atheist. If there WAS a God, He’d be here - not off someplace, hiding, letting a bunch of self-styled preachers “reveal” Him to the world! Right?

The logic is flawless. But the premise is wrong. The premise being that God is after obedience and nothing else. If that were the case, then God would indeed be standing beside you right now with a whip, making sure you don’t sway from the straight-and-narrow.

But that’s not God’s goal. It’s not your goal either, as I’ll soon demonstrate. … Read the rest of this entry »

Your life is MEANINGLESS! Your life HAS NO PURPOSE! No direction, no place to go - nothing of VALUE to LOOK FORWARD TO! Do you want to FIX THAT? Do you want to UNDERSTAND why, and CHANGE IT? Do you want to feel CONTENTED, FULFILLED, SATISFIED, TRULY THRILLED to be alive??

I want you to think about this. What did you do today, that you didn’t do yesterday? And what will you do tomorrow that you didn’t do today? Anything? Or is your life, like practically EVERYONE ON EARTH, merely a drudgery of repetition - a boring, seemingly endless cycle of emptiness?

You know that you will get up tomorrow and go to work and do the exact SAME THINGS you did yesterday; you’ll repeat this daily routine, with minor variations, until one day you’re too old to do it! Then you’ll pine away in some retirement home, forsaken by your family and everyone you once knew, trapped in a failing body and doomed to spend the few remaining days of your life in misery.

Will the world have noticed your existence? Will anyone have profited by your being here? Is there anything after that? Is your life, your very existence nothing but a series of cosmic accidents, or is there a PURPOSE to it all? WHY WERE YOU BORN??

Every serious-minded person has asked this question at at least one point in their life. Where is the answer? The churches don’t have it. They squabble amongst themselves, and have the same problems that everyone else does. They’re certainly not happy and contented with life.

On the other hand, atheists don’t have it. They lead a life that generally revolves around getting ahead of everyone else; after all, this is the only life they have, so they want to get the most out of it, at any price. But their existence is just as empty as everyone else’s.

So WHERE is the SECRET OF LIFE? The KEY that holds happiness, joy, and peace? Read the rest of this entry »
