This question comes up often in relation to pre-flood geology and, for that matter, everyday life in Pre-delugian times. So, had it ever rained before the Flood? Or was the only precipitation a mist that God caused to rise up from the ground?

Genesis 2:4-6 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

From that we know that, when God made plants, grass, trees, etc, (Day 3 of Creation) He made a mist to come up out of the ground to water the ground, and the plants God had just made. But how long did it do this? Did it continue to rise every morning for the 1656 years until the flood of Noah? And had it never rained anywhere on Earth until that happened? Everyone knows that the bible teaches about Faith. And you also know that the Creator of the universe has promised to answer your prayers. Quickly, and dramatically. To quote just two scriptures:

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye SHALL receive.

John 14:14 If ye shall ask ANY thing in my name, I will do it.

These promises CANNOT be broken. God CANNOT lie (Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18). So what is the problem? Why doesn’t God INSTANTLY, DRAMATICALLY answer your prayers - as He has PROMISED? Is God UNABLE to save you? Is the LIVING GOD UNABLE to do the things you ask for? What does your BIBLE say?

Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD’S hand is NOT shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But YOUR INIQUITIES have separated between you and your God, and YOUR SINS have hid his face from you, that he WILL not hear.

YOU have separated yourself from God, by YOUR sins. God promised to answer your prayers, but YOU are not holding up YOUR end of the bargain! Read the rest of this entry »

“The Lord works in mysterious ways, His many wonders to perform!”

Which of us hasn’t encountered this saying a hundred times in our lifetimes. And it is logical enough - after all, God IS big - and his ways are complicated! As Paul said:

Romans 11:33-34 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

And yet this very common - yet totally unscriptural - saying, has a crippling affect on the mental ability of everyone in protestant Christianity today! If you ask them any question which they cannot readily answer, their eyes will glaze over with awe while their face transforms into a blank mask of idiocy and they will respond as if from afar, “The Lord works in mysterious ways, His many wonders to perform!”

But what they really MEAN is, “I don’t know why God did that, but rather than admit I’m too lazy to find out, I’ll just say that God doesn’t WANT me to find out!” Read the rest of this entry »
