There are two schools of thought in the world day, which together comprise the vast majority of people out there; scientists and believers. And these two groups are continually at odds with one another. The scientists demand proof of facts - demand repeatable, consistent, verifiable results. The believers on the other hand consider that blasphemy - they believe in God because… well, they just DO. And they think you should too!

If you ask them to PROVE anything about their God, even the very fact that He exists, they get quite offended and sputter something like “Well, I just accept it on faith. I KNOW God hears me!”. This attitude is largely the reason why many of the scientists reject God altogether and turn to evolution and atheism as the next best answer to the question of origins and our place in the universe.

So let me say something shocking and say that THE SCIENTISTS ARE RIGHT! They are right and the BELIEVERS are wrong!

No, I don’t mean that they are right about God not existing. I mean that they are right to reject the attitude of those “believers”! God does not demand blind Faith, and anyone who has blind faith in God is a fool! Anyone who believes God exists, or believes ONE WORD THAT GOD SAYS on blind faith - that is, without PROVING it - is a fool! A hopelessly misguided fool who doesn’t know God at all! And the atheistic scientist is better off in the grand scheme of things than he! Read the rest of this entry »

We know that in the Garden of Eden, God told the animals “every green herb have I given you for meat”. In Eden, even the animals were vegetarians; But, I have to ask - how did God enforce that law? With Adam and Eve it is easy to see - God just told them and expected them to obey what He said. But the animals? How would God be able to enforce this rule? Did He put muzzles on the lions? Did He have angels running around behind them making sure they didn’t eat the deer or what?

Most people either never asked the question or else brushed it away with a trite statement like “oh, the Spirit of God made them so peaceful they didn’t want to kill…” but that’s just nonsense. I mean really, it feels kinda good but it says nothing. And if you read many of my articles, by now you’re familiar with the fact that I demand REAL answers, not meaningless catch-phrases. So let’s look into this. Because we know that at some point in the future God will again turn the animals back to being vegetarians, so the process is clearly reversible.

Isaiah 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

So how will God do this? Just some magic-wand idea where He goes ZAP and the lions develop a taste for chewing the cud? I rather think not. So let’s see what it takes to make something a vegetarian…. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s a fair question. You ask others to trust you on a daily basis - in fact, you get quite offended when they don’t. But in your heart of hearts, do you really trust yourself? We are put here on this earth to build character. Righteous, holy character - the same character God has. And we use His spirit as a model. And while we will always have that spirit in us that “lusteth to envy”, and we can’t shuck that part of us that is “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” - still, there should be lines that we KNOW we won’t cross.

If we KNOW that we can’t be trusted to do the right thing in a certain situation, then when we get into that situation the odds are we will fail to to do it. If we KNOW we can’t be trusted with something, then we had BETTER learn why and FIX it - soon, because “sin is not imputed when there is no law”, or where there is no knowledge of sin.

A man once told me (in a very holy-sounding way) that he was always very careful not to sit on the couch alone with his girlfriend too long, because he didn’t trust himself not to act inappropriately. While it is admirable that he desired to avoid sinning, nonetheless, rather than being proud of all that, he should instead be ashamed that he couldn’t trust himself not to sin!

James 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

The temptation to sin is something that, as long as we have that evil nature in us, will be present with us. We can’t avoid temptation. Not only is it impossible, but it would be undesirable. For just two verses previous, James had said:

Verse 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

The man that suffers through temptation is BLESSED - not cursed! John Quincy Adams, sixth president of the United States, once said “every temptation is an opportunity of our getting nearer to God.” - and it is! But temptation is NOT sin! Lusting to do evil is NOT a sin - it is only a sin WHEN it has conceived, and you give in to it! Temptation is actually a GOOD thing! Read the rest of this entry »

Surely that picture of Jesus on your wall, or the Angel statuettes your sister gave you, or that dreamcatcher over your child’s bed isn’t an idol! After all, you’re not bowing down to it, or praying to it, are you?? Of course not!

How does GOD feel about it? Does it really matter how YOU feel? If you’re right, then you are allowed to have pictures and representations of other gods in your home, as long as you don’t actually WORSHIP them. At best, this means you get to have some trinkets decorating your home.

But if I’M RIGHT, they will ROB YOU of your salvation! I DARE to make the bold statement that if you knowingly keep a dream catcher in your home, GOD WON’T BE THERE!! Don’t you think it’s worth investigating and finding the REAL TRUTH of this matter, and not the way that seems right to a man, the way that seems right to YOU, the way that leads to DEATH!

Let us take, for example, a cute little statue of Buddha. It’s totally harmless, perhaps a souvenir from your trip to China. Surely that’s not going to interfere with your faith, is it? I mean, YOU know that it’s just a lump of porcelain. YOU know that it’s not an idol TO YOU, so it must be alright! Read the rest of this entry »
